Celebrating 2022

2022 is a wrap!

In 2017, we continued to set out on our mission of “Building Skills for Life”, and are now swimming out of 2022 with a lot of pride, gratitude, and much to celebrate. We are grateful for everyone that has been a part of the Barron Swim Family and those that continue to trust us as their children build skills they will have for a lifetime. As we dive into the new year, we want to look back at a few of our favorite moments from 2022.

Quick Stats

This year, we had a huge impact on our community, and the safety of our students. We held 26,406 swimming lessons, 196 swim team practices, and 4 Safety Weeks! We held 4 in-house swim meets where we decorated 304 of our swimmers with medals and certificates to congratulate them on all of their hard work throughout the year at their group lessons. 467 swimmers participated in our week-long Accelerated programs to improve their swimming skills and ring the level up bell!  We couldn’t be more proud of the hard work and dedication of our swimmers.

Dreams come true in 2022

We dreamed of expanding our swim school after the opening of our South County location in 2017 and this year we made it happen! The Barron family opened their second location in O’Fallon, MO in May of 2022. This completely customized facility came together perfectly to give our students and parents the highest quality environment to learn to swim. We are thrilled to make an impact and educate a new community on the importance of water safety!

Here we GROW again!

This past year, our leadership team grew from 5 to 12! Some of those leaders are; Alex Hale (General Manager – O’Fallon), Josephine Rohrbacker (Aquatics Director – O’Fallon), Anna Marxkors (Office Director – O’Fallon), Sydney Pratt (Parent and Tot Director – South County), Tim Weber (Assistant Aquatics Director – South County), Angie Lofton (Assistant Office Director – South County) and Alex Bargen (Corporate Marketing Director), Marcia Godfrey (Director of Accounting). Also, congrats to Jack Young (Director Of Operations), Lauren Harr (General Manager – South County), and Kristen Katz (Office Director – South County) for elevating to new positions in 2022! We are excited to see the growth as our leadership team brings us into the new year.

Everyday is education

Along with continuing to train in our facilities on CPR, AED, and Lifeguarding, our owners traveled to Hawaii for the National US Swim School Association Conference. Each year we look forward to sharing ideas and learning from other swim schools from all across the globe through our memberships with Swim Consultant, US Swim School Association, and Australian Swim School Association!

Barron gives back

Throughout the year, we collectively raised money for our annual giveback program, Champions Against Cancer. This program raises money for The Costas Center at SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital. The hospital is a non-for-profit, 195-bed inpatient and outpatient children’s hospital, located in St. Louis, MO. Because of YOU we are able to once again make a difference in the lives of the children and families. This year, we raised an astounding $21,048 between both swim schools and Barron Gymnastics.

Barron has now donated over $76,000 since our Champions Against Cancer Campaign first began. It was and still remains an honor to represent all of your big hearts.
Along with Champions Against Cancer, the Hope Floats foundation is very near to our hearts. This foundation gives scholarships to underprivileged children who can’t afford swim lessons and this year we had the opportunity to provide 6 scholarships. At Barron Swim School we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to learn to swim and become safer in and around water.

Swim Abilities Program

We had the most successful year in our Swim Abilities program that teaches children with special needs. We couldn’t be more proud of our Swim Abilities Director, Leslie Johnson, for giving so much passion and care on this program. The Swim Abilities staff continue to make this program ONE OF A KIND! In 2022, we ran 1,700+ private lessons. We also successfully performed our first ever Swim Abilities Swim Meet! We are extremely proud of the students for their hard work.
